Since 1959, I Yu, a textile factory, has been delivering a wide range of fabrics, such as rayon, artificial flower, nylon, polyester, taffeta and acrylic. Noticing market demand, I Yu started to make normal yarn for windsurfing sails, training sails and patch cloth in 1989. In 2004, I Yu had successfully developed high tenacity polyester designed for sails of windsurf sails, kites and yachts. Between 2004 and 2012, I Yu launched Mark Cloth (Insignia), Low Aspect sailcloth, woven by the best high tenacity polyester yarn, 40D canopy, Dacron, etc., basically fulfilling demands related to fabric materials for sailmakers in water sports. Taking sailmakers’ needs as a whole, I Yu was also involved in accessories and hardware, longing to provide more comprehensive products and one stop service for sailmakers to help simplify their purchasing. Not complacent with the status quo, I Yu keeps striving for excellence, focusing wholeheartedly on the development of the highest quality as well as on product consistency and endurance.

From 2017, I Yu has been devoted to UV Protection fabrics, solution dyed polyester, not only for Marine applications, but for Upholstery end use. Now, there is a wide range of products for sailmakers and interior/exterior designers to choose from. Following UV Protection series, I Yu has succeeded in developing Spinnaker, Dacron Tape, Insignia Tape, Double sided seaming tape, etc., which has been approved by so many sailmakers in the industry. Meanwhile, I Yu’s best R&D engineering team strictly monitor every production procedure in Taiwan and make sure the best quality and highest performance products are delivered to sailmakers. Even completely split from HK trade company in 2020, I Yu Taiwan team was not affected at all because I Yu Taiwan team controls the core skills, expertise, know-how in production of sail cloth with the best R&D engineering team.
